“Fare la scarpetta” : The act of mopping up one’s plate with a piece of bread. An old informal Italian custom; It simply shows one’s full enjoyment of a meal.


Scarpetta with its own neo-rustic design is in the heart of Teddington, Middlesex.  We have based our menus on the cuisine of the region of Puglia (Apulia) is the heart of food industry in Italy. It is well known for supplying the rest of the country with olive oil, fresh meat, poultry, seafood and vegetables, which in turn results in being the origin of variety of classic italian dishes.


We have carefully combined the old traditional Pugliese recipes with new age Italian ones to create a mouth watering menu, which includes starters, fresh fish and meat dishes, fresh pastas, wood-fired oven pizzas and home-made scrumptious desserts. We change our menus adding new dishes along with the favourite ones every quarter or so in order to take advantage of seasonal changes.


A wide range of superb, award winning wines from different regions in Italy are also available to complement the food.
 
We also have a separate room(downstairs section), which is perfect for any type of private function. We offer a set menu option for any parties of 10 or more persons.
